MICE 2024: Full Schedule

Join cartoonist Jon Chad on a tour through a collection of minicomoics with different binding techniques, formats, materials, and printing techniques. Participants will learn how to make two quick and exciting book forms for their own comic stories; a choose-your-own-adventure comic, and an expanding foldy! No experience needed, just a thrill for comics and the unknown!

What's your favorite part of the comics process? Join Mad Rupert for her favorite part: inking! Via live demonstration, Mad will cover a variety of traditional inking tools, like technical and brush pens, and give tips on mark-making, line variation, and keeping your hand steady. She will also cover the inking order of operations (what should you ink first? Word balloons or art?), hand-lettering, and digital cleanup. Bring your favorite inking tools, or some you've been wanting to try!
